For Zach's birthday, we decided to celebrate at Ninja New York, an AWESOME restaurant where the waiters & staff are completely in character as ninja's, and the entire place is decorated realistically as a Ninja lair. Because the critics at New York magazine can say it better than I, here is the write up:
Long before you’ve taken your first bite of Ninja’s Japanese-French-American fusion fare, you’ll have experienced some of the highpoints of this Tribeca Disneyland. Guests are whisked into the subterranean space, led to the dining area via a secret path (peopled by live “ninjas” poised to scare the living daylights out of you), then brought to the recesses of a feudal castle where each dungeonlike chamber houses a single table.

Certain dishes, noted on the menu, also come as a performance art...including large flames, magic tricks, dry ice, and other cool effects. The food was also DELICIOUS. Katrina and I shared theKaisen, a Ninja signature dish for 2, which includes oven grilled black cod and lobster tempura encrusted with rice cubes served with Dashi Sauce and Edamame Rice.
