The first beach day of Summer 09!

One of my very favorite things about living in New York, is that I can hop on the subway and escape to the beach for a day! The beach feels about a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of NYC, but in reality I think it's only about 13 miles and an hour train ride!

We've had so much rain lately and I was getting bummed out about it. But yesterday surprised us all with a beautiful day of sun and fun at the shore. Amanda and I decided to explore Manhattan Beach in Brooklyn. Accompanied by her friend Lindsay, and Lindsay's friends Justin and Jen. We had a lovely picnic and kicked off the beach season with a WONDERFUL day! Just what the doctor ordered after about 4 weeks of gloomy clouds and rain.
