Happy Halloween, New York City Style

So...I had heard some stories, and confirmed the rumors on Friday night. Halloween is HUGE in NYC!! And I'm thinking the fact that Halloween fell on a Friday this year just contributed to the craziness. My friend Jenn invited me to the Social Life Magazine's Halloween Party, where a $40.00 ticket got you an open bar for 5 hrs! Not too bad! The party was in a cool loft space on the West Side that took up the whole floor of a building. I went as Holy Golightly (a.k.a, Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's) and Jenn was the Devil in a blue dress. It was a great evening for drinking cocktails and people watching! (Sadly I was so busy watching people that I forgot to take any pictures of them!!) I really should have documented the best costumes...

So to prove my point, about how CRAZY New York is on Halloween...for the first time ever, i could NOT catch a cab after the party was over!! We left about 2:00 a.m., and I kept walking another block, and another block, and then another block, searching for an empty cab. Finally, after 20+ LOOOOONG blocks (in heels and a formal dress, at almost 3:00 in the morning, after about 4 hrs. of open bar...) I ended up at home, thank goodness!!
