Musuem of the City of New York

Like many of the city's finest muuems on the stretch of 5th Avenue known as "museum mile," The Museum of the City of New York is located in my Upper East Side Neighborhood. We decided that this would be a great rainy Saturday activity on the chilly april weekend when Mom and Pop were in town.
Highlights included an exhibit on New York's 400 year history, discovery by Dutch explorer Henry Hudson, and modest beginnings as the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam. We also enjoyed a 30 minute documentary on the history of New York through time, an exhibit on the history theater & Broadway, as well as an amazing and ultra-modern exhibit on the "Greening" of New York and all the ways that they are working to make New York a greener city. A most lovely afternoon at a beautiful museum.
