Fire Island National Seashore

Fire Island is a 32 mile barrier island off the coast of Long Island. The week after the fourth of July, Zach, Lisa, and I decided to make a day of it, and visit the National Seashore portion of Fire Island. We drove about an hour and a half outside the city, and took a 30-minute ferry ride over to Fire Island.

The beach was pristine and GORGEOUS. After about a 6 hr. day in the perfect beautiful sunshine (not a cloud in the sky!) we headed back to catch our ferry, with plenty of time to spare for a couple of drinks at the tikki bar there on the island.

It was the perfect end to a perfect beach day!
