So, here is one free event that even the most determined New Yorkers did not ruin! Every Friday and Wednesday throughout the summer, they play free movies at Pier 42 on the Hudson. Granted, we got there EARLY and snagged great seats (Kris, Kate, and I). Kris had brought us a gorgeous picnic of hummus, pita, grape leaves, salad, and babaganouch, and I brought a couple of bottles of red wine. So passing the couple of hours we had to wait for the movie, while watching the most incredible sunset over the Hudson River was truly a delight. The screen is set up at the very end of the pier, and the chairs are set up perfectly facing the sunset. The movie we saw was "Almost Famous." It was a great night.
