Two Broadway shows in one week? How luxurious! 2 of my friends & colleagues joined me at the Marquis Theater to take in a preview performance of 9 to 5. Dolly Parton wrote an all-original score of 18 songs for the production. It was simply delightful! The casting was amazing--especially for Dolly's role of Dora Lee. I've never heard anyone who's voice sounded even remotely similair to Dolly, but this actress both spoke and sang almost identically.
Before the show we enjoyed dinner and drinks at a nearby music-themes diner called Vinyl (where we sat a table right next to the actress Cameron Manheim!) We picked Vinyl, in part, because they have artist-themes restrooms, and yes--I used the Dolly Parton bathroom. (and took pictures to proove it!)
