Charting undiscovered territory in Central Park

Hard to believe I have lived in New York for a year and a half and I am still discovering new parts of Central Park that I have never seen before!

Patrick Wheatley was in town June 13 & 14th, and one of the highlights of his visit was our Central Park discoveries. In the very upper Northwest corner of the park (a place I rarely get to, although not a terribly far trek from my apartment) we discovered by accident the areas known as the Northwoods and the Rambles. I could not believe I was in Central Park! For a brief moment, I almost felt like I was back home in the Smokey Mountains. There were waterfalls, and foliage, and peace and quiet. It was so lovely and relaxing!

After our excursion in the park, Wheatley and I also returned to my new favorite spot in town, The Frying Pan—where we enjoyed a few brewskies in the beautiful sunshine. Roxie accompanied us for the duration of the entire trip, most definitely the biggest day of her life. We walked for miles across Central Park, she slept at our feet while we enjoyed some delicious Greek food at a patio on the Upper West Side, she rode the Subway as we journeyed downtown to the frying pan where she chilled with us in the sun, she took her first bus ride across town, and hopped another Subway on the way back up to the Upper East Side! We were gone from about 10:00 in the morning to after 6:00 that night and Rox was a rock star whole time!
