So, the Macy's sponsored 4th of July Fireworks are apparently the biggest fireworks display in the world! Five barges are placed along the Hudson River, from 23rd to 59th Street, and the entire show is shot off simultaneously from each of the 5 boats. It was amazing! Morgan and I found a remarkably uncrowded spot in a secret park on 61st St. (After escaping what was the CRAZIEST, MOST INTENSE crowd I have ever experienced in NYC!)
After the fireworks were over, we couldn't even dream of getting on the subway, so we walked across Central Park. Some of the buildings were lit up with red, white, & blue!
So, this little project is really intended to be less of a "blog" and more of an online journal where I get to keep track of the never-ending stream of awesome events, concerts, festivals, theater, and outdoor recreation that NYC has to offer. Living in this city is so overwhelming because there's so very much to do and so precious little time!
