Sunday, Sara and I headed to Coney Island. After about 55 minutes on the subway (the longest subway ride of my life!) we arrived to greet the Atlantic Ocean and an absolutely gorgeous day! We strolled the beach and the boardwalk, sunbathed for about an hour or so, stuck our toes in the icy water, drank beer in the sun at "Beer Island", grabbed some grub from a boardwalk vendor, rode the almost 100-year-old ferris wheel (the Wonder Wheel) and split a delicious funnel cake on the Boardwalk, before heading back to the city. I never even left New York City, but somehow I felt like I had gotten to go on vacation too, this Memorial Day weekend.
